Clutter Clearing & How to Energise Your Home Tips
.Regardless of who gave it to you, look at every object you possess and ask yourself if you love it, does it enhance your living space or just take up room? – If you are only holding on to items because they were a gift now is the time to offer it as a gift to your local charity shop.
.Any item of clothing that you have not worn for 12 months goes into the charity bag! Any item that is too small that you are desperate to slim back in to, place in a plastic bag and tag the bag recording what is inside it and a date. If after a year it is still too small, put it in the charity bag, honestly it will be out of date!!
.If you are surrounded by clutter get some large packing boxes and label them alphabetically. Then all the clutter that you do not use but hold onto just in case you might need it can be placed in the right lettered boxes. So computer cables will be in the C box, for example. Make a list of all the items that go into the boxes and keep the list in a handy place. As for the boxes put them in the loft, garage or shed. Any item that you need within 3 months can come out of the box and back into the home. All the items that you do not use in a 12 month period, you need to ask yourself if you really need it? When did you last use it before it went in the box? Is it still useful?
.Throw out all food that is out of date, that includes herbs, spices, porridge oats, medicines and vitamin tablets.
.Put all your photos in really beautiful albums rather than just keeping them stacked up in the wallets you collected them in, make a memory board for those photos you love or put them in frames, if you are keeping them then enjoy them…
.If you are holding on to utility bills that are over a year old, there is really no need!
.Your bedroom should be romantic and sexy, which means no computers, TV’s, ironing boards or exercise bikes, if the item does not make you feel sensual then remove it and plan to get sexy!
.When cooking use all the burners on the hob rather than always using the front two, in feng shui it creates a good balanced energy.
.If you work from home, using a compass locate the southeast area in your home office and place in this area a plant or better still a desktop water feature to bring wealth energy into your business.
.Replace blown light bulbs as soon as possible as energy is attracted to light.
.Locate the North in your bedroom by using a compass and in this area hang a picture of lovers or place a solitary sculpture of lovers (ideally one painted black or made of metal). Then schedule plenty of quality time with your partner and have fun!
.Remove all mirrors from the bedroom especially mirrored sliding doors; it’s a no-no!
.Burn rosemary oil in your office to keep you focused & to give you clarity.
.An outside light attracts energy to your home at night and helps you find the keyhole!!
.Hang a mirror to reflect your dining room table and the food that you serve. This ensures that you will always be able to have an abundance of good food for you & your family.
.Keep all windows clean regularly inside and out and any cracked glazing should be replaced immediately because in feng shui windows relate to eyes and in China it is believed that broken windows lead to eye problems.
.Burn rosewood, lavender or marjoram in your living space when you want to chill out and relax.
.To instantly uplift the energy in your home open all the windows and patio doors, back door & French doors if you have them.
.Don’t keep dying flowers and their stagnant water in the house, throw the flowers and get the vase sparkling clean ready for the next time, only fresh flowers uplift energy, dying ones don’t!
.Create ambient lighting in the evenings and uplift energy by having clusters of lit tealights and candles.
